1.You see an adorable pair of pants on sale, but they are two sizes too small. You've already gone shopping twice that week. You: A. Buy them anyway. If you can't lose some weight, there's bound to be someone you know who can squeeze into them. B. Put them back on the rack. Who needs more dead weight in that closet of yours? Besides, you're trying to cut down on your shopaholic ways... C. Put them in your cart for the rest of your shopping trip so you can think about it. If you still don't feel good about them by the time you're finished, you can always tell the cashier that you've changed your mind.
2. Your best friends are going shopping this weekend and beg you to come along. You know that you're strapped until the end of the month. You: A. Go along! You can't miss a good shopping spree with your friends, so you just take your credit cards. If you see something on sale, you'd hate to miss out! B. Tell them no. You have a budget, and you're sticking to it. C. Let them know that you will go along for the shopping trip, but leave your cash and cards at home, and pack a brown bag lunch.
3. The cashier at your favorite department store offers you a 15% discount if you open a charge account. You: A. Apply on the spot. Who can resist a sale and the opportunity to shop for more of your favorite brands on credit? B. Tell her no. Pay and walk away slowly. C. Let her know that you need to go home and think about it. Ask if you can take a brochure with you so that you can apply by mail if interested.
4. It's Saturday afternoon. You are: A. Shopping at the mall, catching up on the weekend sales. B. Home scrubbing your kitchen floors, far from going shopping. C. Sitting in your living room clipping coupons and going over the grocery sales for the next week.
5. You get an extra $50 for your birthday. You: A. Go shopping right away! You run right out and put that pair of leather boots you want on layaway. B. Stick it in your piggy bank-once a saver, always a saver. Shopaholic, I am not! C. Fill up your car with gas and pocket the rest for parking fees. Maybe you will go shopping some other time, but you have to have balance between shopping and necessity!
6. An orange clearance rack catches your eye from across the store. It is in a department that you don't need anything from. You: A. Race right over, knocking down two displays of cotton balls on the way. B. Pretend that you didn't see it. C. Realize that your mother mentioned wanting something from that department. After calling her to see if she wants you to check in on it for her, finish with your shopping.

You could go without shopping and it would not bother you at all. C. Fun if you are in the right frame of mind. An hour or two picking up necessities can be a nice way to relax.

While it is great to be conscious of what you buy, there's no need to fear a shopping cart and never go shopping!
