Save Money on Travel: Go Online Print E-mail
Do you love to travel? I do. Do you want to file for bankruptcy as a result? ...Me neither. I like to go on nice vacations, but I do not like paying the regular price. Therefore, I plan my vacations well in advance in order to save money. Is saving money on travel important to you? Some people believe that saving money on travel, or going on an inexpensive vacation, would not turn out to be the unbelievable vacation they dreamed about. But there is no need to pay regular travel prices to have an unbelievable vacation. If you like to travel and want to save money on your next vacation, I would like to share these travel tips and secrets, to help you save money on your vacation by going online.

The secret to saving money on travel is to determine when you can get the best travel rates. Those days are generally Sunday through Thursday. The discounted travel period includes hotel, car, and air fares.

Priceline.com
We have used Priceline.com numerous times. If you are planning to travel, going online to sites such as Priceline.com is the best way to find great discounted travel rates. We went to Phoenix, Arizona for five days: air, hotel, and car rental came to $1000 for three of us. We stayed in the downtown Sheraton at a fantastic property. The hotel for 5-days came to $180. Where in the world can you get a Sheraton hotel room for $180 for 5-days? $180 for a day, but never for a week! Also, through Priceline.com, we stayed at the Hyatt at Disneyland in California for $65 a night; regularly $279 a night. We also stayed at the Hyatt in the heart of Bellevue, Washington for 3-days at $25 a night also through Priceline.com. The hotel room was regularly $280 per night. We have always gotten our airline tickets through Priceline.com as well. Priceline.com has always saved us a bundle, and although our vacation was inexpensive, we still got the awesome vacation we wanted.

Orbitz.com
If you do not drive to your vacation destination, you will need to rent a car on your vacation. Car rental can be costly, but Orbitz.com can save you money on car rentals for your vacation. When we went to Arizona for our 5-day vacation we rented a car that cost $80 for 5-days. In 2005, we spent eight days in Oregon, rented a car, and the cost was less than $150 for the car. Matter of fact, it was for a family reunion, so all my brothers and sisters rented their cars to. For those looking to go on an unbelievable but inexpensive vacation, Orbitz.com is a great website for finding your car travel discounts.

Online SpecialsTo save money on travel, I recommend checking for online travel specials and package deals. We went to Biltmore Estates in Ashville, North Carolina for Spring break last year. The rooms at the Biltmore Estates start at around $400 a night. By going to the Biltmore website, we discovered that Biltmore Estates had partnered with the other local hotels for package deals. The package deals included admissions to Biltmore Estates for the length of your stay. Without the package deal the admissions to Biltmore would have been $100 a day for me, my husband, and daughter. Our Marriott package deal which included a 3-day hotel stay, daily buffet breakfast, and daily admission to the Biltmore was a total of $428 for three people. Unbelievable vacation!!!

You have to start using online travel, especially if you're looking for discount air, car, and hotel rates. You will be able to have great inexpensive vacations in style. You won't have to file for bankruptcy when you return from vacation. If you know that you love to travel, do yourself a favor. Save money on travel - go online!
