When it comes to your finances or anything related to finance, it's all about the attitude. Whether you approach money with a positive outlook, or can't stop feeling sorry for yourself because of your money situation, your attitude about money is an important topic to look at. Here are five signs that you may have a bad attitude about money.

Is your glass half-full?
A bad attitude towards the world as a whole will create a bad attitude towards money. People who tend to view the world in a negative light will have an easier time spending money and treating money with a negative attitude. Why? It may be because they use shopping to cheer themselves up. Spending money can leave a negative person with a temporary sense of well-being. Beware that this is only a very temporary fix, and one's finances may be at risk with this negative attitude towards money.

Do you feel entitled?
It is mistakenly assumed that only those raised in elitist homes with a lot of money feel like they should have the best. This is not always the case- many adults use money they do not have to finance their wildest material dreams. Adults from families with little money may feel that they need to make up for a lack of material things earlier in life. This sense of entitlement is not only misleading, but it can be harmful to your finances, and create a negative financial attitude.

Is there an excuse for every purchase?
If you find that you buy things you don't need, but are able to easily justify them, you may have a problem with money. Rationalizing things you can't afford is another sign of a bad attitude about money. If given enough excuses, there is no limit to the number of unwise money choices you can make!

Do you hide your unwise decisions?
Keeping finance or finance related blunders from a spouse or loved one is a bad idea. Even worse is keeping the full realization of what you have done from yourself. It is always best to "own up" to all things relating to finance and your poor money choices. Denial is never going to help your money situation or money attitude.

Is this your last offense?
Many times it is easy to spend money foolishly, as long as it is the "last time." Empty promises to change money habits will only add to your guilt and debt, and will do nothing to change your negative attitude towards money. Resolve to do better and change your attitude right away, and watch your attitude begin to change.

If you are struggling with your views of finance and aren't sure why, maybe your attitude about money is to blame. Keeping yourself accountable at every thought and action related to money is the best place to start changing your attitude about money. By immediately changing your attitude towards money, you can look forward to a much brighter future.
